Nien!
Note: dead busy with studies.
But more importantly, had another God is male discussion. Was safely eating my mixed grill, yumy!, when my good friend asked me about God being male. I then went on a rant about how I could not believe that people actualy believed God is male.
A rather queit and unassuming lass from my church piped up that she thought God was male (why is it always women who think that God is male? and is that why women have such stupid hight standards for men?). I got rather blustered, only to discover i was in an impenitrable field of unlogic.
Me: You can't seriously believe God is male
girl X: But the bible uses Father for God.
Me: But Jesus is son of the Father, but that does not mean, as fatherhood would normaly, that Jesus came after the Father.
girl X: God has chosen to reveal himself as Father.
Me: Are you saying that maleness is actualy part of who God is or are you trying to say that as humans we must meet God as having gender? Is not God as he reveals himself.
girl X: ????, but the bible uses Father and not mother it must therfore imply some aspect of gender.
Me: But God is not a human, he beyond class or specification, he is infact wholly other. To suggest that he is male is to reduce him to our catagories and to commit idolitory.
girl X: Ah well, its not that important.
me: this steak is good.
